Coordination

LaptopCoordination
In this modern world of iPads and Kindle Fires in our house, Diego hasn't had much interest in our old, archaic laptop (bleh).  (Can you imagine a future without laptops?  Will tablets one day obliterate them?  I still love my laptop!)

Until just the other day when the hubs needed his iPad and bartered the laptop to pry the iPad from Diego's little hands.  Hubs had to make the laptop as intriguing as possible so he proceeded to open Youtube and play Diego's favorite Godzilla video.  Goal accomplished!  Diego was stuck, sitting wide-eyed in front of the laptop until the fan-made Godzilla video was over.  At that point, he used the track pad to point to and play another suggested Youtube video.

This may seem like no big deal, but a mouse or a trackpad requires a higher type of understanding and coordination that is not required on touch screen machines.  Nobody taught Diego how a track pad works, he just saw us use it and copied the concept.  (He might just be ready to use *gulp* the Playstation controller!) He then watched cheesey, fan-made Godzilla videos using action figure Godzillas for the next 1/2 hour.  Glued to the screen.

And that was when the light bulb went off and a Christmas gift idea was born. - Shirley
